The launch of Pokémon Sword and Shield unleashes the eighth generation of cards. All of the card sets have Sword and Shield in the name.
Celebrations, released on October 8, 2021, is the set celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise. It features 25 new cards, as well as 25 reprints of cards from past series. Each Celebrations pack only contains four cards, but all four are holographic.
Featuring a Classic Collection in addition to other exciting cards. This expansion features a celebratory parade of cards you won’t find anywhere else.
Celebrations, released on October 8, 2021, made collectors buy specifically-branded merchandise.
Both sets feature Legendary and Mythical Pokémon from across the span of the franchise. Also, a selection of different Pikachu cards.
The cards in the Celebrations expansion feature the Pokémon 25th Anniversary logo. Each Celebrations booster pack contains four cards. Each 25th Anniversary Collection pack contains five.
Celebrations also have a 25-card Classic Collection. This subset comprises close replicas of popular cards from previous Series.
The cards retain the original numbering, rarity, and copyright information of their original print. Except for those released during the Original and Neo Series, which omit the Wizards of the Coast copyright.
As with the “remixed” cards, they are ineligible for use in official events and feature the Pokémon 25th Anniversary logo.
